BOW 4 (Naturual Selection)

http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/files/imagecache/review/files/reviews/Young-Charles-Darwin.jpgNatural selection is one of the many basic mechanism of evolution when compared to mutation, migration and genetic drift.  It is the a process in nature where the organism has a certain genotype characteristics that help them benefit in its environment result to it surviving, reproducing and increase in its population and leads to the animal to pass on the specific genotype to its succeeding generations.  The desired heritable traits increase the the chances of an organism to better live, survive and reproduce when being compared to the less beneficial traits.  The idea of natural selection was first proposed by Charles Darwin and results to the evolution of organisms.
